The Things We Do to Heal
The messy side of getting better.
Healing isn’t always the cozy, nurturing picture we imagine. Sometimes it starts with something inconvenient, like taking antibiotics when you really don’t want to. In this strip, Zara has to take medicine for her ear, and inside her body, it feels like a total shake-up. Omie watches the microbial world go KA-BOOM as the good and bad bacteria scatter.
But healing has two sides: the disruption and the rebuilding.
And rebuilding can be beautiful.
In the final scene, a bowl of Ma’s homemade dahi brings comfort and restoration. It’s a reminder that even after hard moments, nourishment, patience, and small rituals help us reset.
We don’t always love the steps we have to take, but they’re still part of taking care of ourselves. Sometimes healing looks dramatic on the inside, and completely ordinary on the outside.
